This may be an old thread now, but I am posting here because I don't have time to sift through all the forums for all the relevant threads on this topic in hopes of finding the 'magic settings' that will let me play comfortably (although I really would like to find that, somehow). It was pretty sensitive already, so now I need to use a 'very' light touch to keep from running while sneaking, for example. ini tweaks should also work for other controllers but that some further tweaking may be necessary.Īfter trying this myself, I have noticed some small improvement with finer control over aiming, but now walking & running seems to be more sensitive as well. ini tweaks listed for people who are using an xBox 360 controller. I have also been having this problem with my generic controller, but recently I was reading the Oblivion Readme, and it has some. Still very payable, but aiming arrows/magic feels clunky. YMMV.Įh Xpadder works fine, but the aiming is just not as fluent as the console version. So, I deleted xPadder and am enjoying JoyToKey. it works great except for when I'm running the game, then I get no response. After much time getting it to work with Windows 7, then learning how to use it and finding a picture of a controller for it, then setting up all the buttons, & etc. No problem finding which button is which, either, as JoyToKey will highlight each button press!Īs an aside: I also tried xPadder 5.3 as an alternative. There were a few button mapping choices that I didn't like, but it was easy to re-map them in JoyToKey. The analog walk-to-run function is also intact on my controller. It works very well with my generic controller, although it was made for the xBox 360 controller. This fix worked for me.īTW.: I am now using the JoyToKey configuration from the UESP Wiki that I posted above: Oblivion:Controls - UESPWiki If there is press it and make sure the analog function is working, then try the controller again. Look on your controller and see if there is a button marked 'analog'. This happened to me just today (I got a generic PC controller for Christmas). Does anyone else know anything about this?Įdited by HareDeLune, 03 January 2014 - 02:18 AM. I think it may be written for an emulator program, but if it can be used as a standalone driver without the emulator it may be a good solution. I am now all set to use one of those lop-sided monstrosities, though. Naturally, they do not recognize my PS3 controller at all. Since posting the above, I have found Microsoft's Official xBox 360 drivers, which I tried installing. is near the bottom of the page that the link points to. If anyone is interested, here is the JoyToKey config. After my experience with the MotionInJoy driver, I am a little afraid to try other third party drivers, although that looks like it may be the only way for me at this point, as I don't have the money to buy a dedicated PC controller at the moment. I decided to try exPadder next, but while trying to configure it I ran into the same problem that it will not recognize any button presses on the controller.Īs this thread has recent posts, I decided to post here to ask for advice. However, neither Windows nor the game recognizes any input from the controller whatsoever. Windows recognizes my controller when plugged in, as does the game, which displays the controller menu in the game settings menu. on the Elder Scrolls Wiki which I decided to try. I uninstalled that driver and let Windows reinstall the default driver. I tried MotionInJoy with Better DS3, which gave me the BSOD. I too have been pulling my hair out trying to make my PS3 controller work with Oblivion on PC. Hello and thank you for posting this information. All of these worked correctly with the profile yesterday and I have no clue what has happened to make them stop functioning today since I have not edited the profile in any way.Įdited by heavenp13, 20 December 2013 - 07:26 PM. And the 'A' button both enables/disables sneak AND activates an item so if I am sneaking and try to pick something up, I am suddenly standing. And pressing in the right joystick fired an arrow instead of switching POV. RB did both casting magic and switching between 3rd/1st person view at the same time. The left joystick didn't do anything other than move my character (so nothing inside the menus). I could not use my left/right trigger buttons to cycle between tabs in the journal, though I did that yesterday. Today though, I loaded my game up and certain controller buttons were no longer working as they had yesterday. It was great that I could play with a controller, like I am used to and didn't need a mouse and keyboard. I downloaded and configured this yesterday and it worked fine.
