□□Īlso, he’s hosting a multilingual book club right now, which I’m pretty excited about. He and Lindie Botes just seem super chill, so I can get behind them. His approach is more leisurely, for sure, but that fits my vibe, too. For language YouTubers, I view them as kinda like a sub-genre of lifestyle YouTubers. I’m not usually looking to LL YouTube to learn unless it’s a channel 100% dedicated to it (like TTMIK or Learn French with Alexa). I also just like hearing other people talk about their language learning journeys because I might hear something that resonates with me. For example, he recently talked about his journey with mandarin and how it’s been in and out of focus, and I appreciated hearing about his experience and how he is planning to return to it. But I’ve liked how genuine Robin seems to be. Some of the polyglot youtubers (and YouTubers in general) put on a fake positive/productive vibe ALL THE TIME, and it’s just not realistic. He is very thoughtful and shares a lot of his process/journey/inner feelings about his language learning, which I really appreciate. I really like his videos! Some others have said they tend to be a bit long, but for the YouTubers I like, that is actually my preference. Overall, I think his channel is really great and I’m interested to see what others say about him as well! According to the videos I’ve watched, he also doesn’t seem like one of those people that are forcing their viewers to use a certain app/website for their language learning and, rather, he just shares the mediums that personally worked for him. Maybe he could just be hiding it well, but based on what I’ve perceived so far, he seems like a genuine guy who loves learning languages and wants to share some tips and advice to his viewers to help with their journey as well. It looks like a lot of people have joined in the community and are really enjoying it. I’ve also checked out his language journaling website, Journaly, and it seems really promising. His videos are quite cozy and relaxing as well which I enjoy. I’ve actually used several of his tips and he’s also the one who got me to start using Notion because of his video where he used Notion for learning languages. He also doesn’t seem to brag about all of the languages he can speak and even gives us lots of beneficial tips and advice. I don’t know him personally, but I think that he’s quite genuine and really puts a lot of effort into sharing his language journey with us (especially his struggles).
